A substantial and authentic Victorian horse stable manger, complete with its original timber hay rack and iron tether rings.

This impressive piece comes from a traditional working stable where it would have been used for feeding horses while hay was placed in the upper rack. The iron rings fixed to the ends allowed horses to be safely tethered while feeding.

Constructed from thick solid timber with a beautifully aged surface, the manger retains the honest wear and patina that comes from decades of use. The tall slatted hay rack remains intact above the trough, suspended with iron chains as originally designed.

Large stable fittings of this scale rarely survive intact and make exceptional decorative pieces today. It would suit a country house interior, equestrian property, restaurant, pub, or interior design project, and also works beautifully as a dramatic garden planter or display piece.
